Leon Trotsky: Telegram to Lenin

Copy. Telegram. True Copy. (File of outgoing communications for 1918) The Trotsky Papers 1917-1922, edited and annotated by Jan M. Meijer, The Hague. 1964, Vol. 2., p. 227]

From: Voronezh

December 31, 1918. No. 1633

To: Moscow – Chairman of the Council of Defence, Lenin.

The Chief of Military Procurements of the Eastern Front, Shteyngauz, has complained by telegram that his special train drawn by locomotive No. 123 has been held up at the Nikolayevka junction of the Kazan Railway for over twenty four hours up to the time of dispatch of his telegram and neither passed through as a special train nor as a passenger one. He requests assistance. I again draw your attention to the anarchy prevailing on the Moscow network.

Chairman of the Military Revolutionary Council of the Republic, L. Trotsky
